NICKELBACK DONATES TO AMI& ICA!
Today in the NYC offices of Nobel Peace Prize winning Organization, Amnesty International, a check presentation to both AI and ICA was held. $600,000 was contributed as a result of Nickelback, Roadrunner Records, Warner-Elektra-Atlantic, and Warner Chapell donating all proceeds from the audio and video digital sales of hit single "If Everyone Cared" from Nickelback's 7X Platinum (yep, 7X Platinum) latest album, All The Right Reasons.
Now that is what I call TRULY amazing.

ROADRUNNER RECORDS 2008 GRAMMY NOMINEES!
New York, NY - Roadrunner Records is proud to announce 2008 Grammy Awards nominations for two of its marquee artists. Multi-platinum rockers Nickelback have been nominated in the category of Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for "If Everyone Cared" from the seven-times platinum album All The Right Reasons, in company with Daughtry, Green Day, U2 and The White Stripes. Thrash pioneers Machine Head land their first-ever Grammy nomination for the track "Aesthetics of Hate" from 2007's critically acclaimed album The Blackening in the category of Best Metal Performance. Other nominees are As I Lay Dying, King Diamond, Shadows Fall and Slayer.
All proceeds from the digital single and video sales of "If Everyone Cared" between February 1 and July 31, 2007 were donated to charity, equally distributed between Amnesty International and International Childrens' Awareness Canada. Over 800,000 digital singles and 25,000 digital videos were sold during the six-month period of the humanitarian campaign. The track also reached #1 on the Hot AC chart and Top 10 at Pop. Nickelback's Mike Kroeger comments, "We are thrilled to receive a Grammy nomination, especially for ‘If Everyone Cared.' This song means a lot to the band. It carries a strong message that we feel very passionate about, and we are glad that has been recognized."
This marks the first Grammy nomination for Bay-area thrash legends Machine Head."Aesthetics of Hate," an homage to the late "Dimebag" Darrell of Pantera and Damageplan is the focus track from Machine Head's 2007 opus, The Blackening which Revolver Magazine predicts "... may prove to be this generation's ...And Justice for All." The Blackening was the #1 most spun album of 2007 at FMQB's Metal Detector radio chart, among other accolades. Frontman Robb Flynn said from tour in Europe that the band is, "...completely blown away and honored by this! It's a great time for metal in the good ol' U-S-of-A right now, and Machine Head are stoked to be leading the charge!"
